Position Overview

The Enterprise Services Project Engineer will work on HN global customers to design and support the delivery of multi-site implementations, upgrades and maintenance programmes.

As a project engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the Network Operations Centre, Field Engineers and Project Management team have adequate knowledge (through documentation and training) to ensure the successful delivery of services.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Develop process and technical documentation to support multi-site rollouts including, but not limited to, schematics, AP placement maps, report templates, workbooks, email templates.
  • Attend and perform roll-out pilots to ensure Statement of Works are correct and to aide in the development of documentation.
  • Liaise with Solution Architects to provide accurate pre-sales support in developing Levels of Effort.
  • Provide training to NOC, Field Engineers and PM team to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Research and develop knowledge around parts used within projects to gain a full understanding of how they are installed, used and compatible with other parts.
  • Liaise with Enterprise Services team to improve internal processes and documentation.
  • Act as a point of contact for technical escalations when required.
  • Interface with customer teams to ensure all parties have a complete picture of the work taking place.
  • Manage your time to work with customers when required (our clients are global standard working hours do not apply)
  • Obtain and maintain vendor engineering certifications required for service delivery.

what we're looking for in you

Essential Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Networking or similar.
  • 2+ years’ experience within the Network Engineering space.
  • CCNP or F5 30X or JNCIP or equivalent experience desirable.
  • Experience working across multiple verticals e.g. Routing and Switching, Wireless, Collaboration, Data Centre, Security, IoT, AV.
  • Understanding of field delivery challenges.
  • Ability to produce technical documentation.
  • Understanding of ITIL framework, particularly Change Request processes would be advantageous.

 

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to team with others to develop documentation and processes for successful delivery.
  • Ability to research parts and liaise with manufacturers to gain a full understanding of Bill of Materials.
  • Ability to travel worldwide.
