Position Overview

The Cloud UC Engineer is an exciting role that has one foot planted in Deployment and Engineering of our Cloud UC Core and supporting UC Applications and the other in technical project delivery.

 

Platform development and engineering will be focused on supporting the requirements of the product roadmap. This will include working on the full Fabrix UC hardware and software stacks and interfacing with other members of the Fabrix team.

 

Project delivery scope will change on a project by project basis driven by business demand, and will include device configuration, architecture/design input and testing. The role may also include customer facing activities including pre-sales and sales support for Fabrix UC products and solutions, support for existing deployments, webinar interaction with customers, POC deployments and other general end-customer interactions.

 

The Cloud UC Engineer is expected to act as a team member, liaising with all members of the Fabrix Business Unit and other colleagues on projects as assigned. They will also be responsible for delivering and owning issues, tasks and solutions for the business.

 

High-quality task delivery and ownership within pre-defined timescales will be crucial to the success of the role.      

 

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Fabrix UC Core Products and Application Engineering and Development.
  • SIP Service Engineering, Deployment and Operations.
  • WAN Circuit Engineering, Deployment and Operations.
  • Hosted UC Engineering, Deployment and Operations.
  • Deployment of UC solutions within cloud or virtualization.
  • Support for Fabrix UC Services within key customer accounts.
  • Contribution towards Fabrix UC development roadmap and service enhancement.
  • Work to resolve issues within Fabrix architecture.

what we're looking for in you

Essential Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Networking (or other related engineering discipline), or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience building or designing of cloud SIP and/or UC services.
  • Past experience with Cisco UC (CUCM and or CUBE)
  • Experience in IP Networking and SIP
  • Knowledge of the principles of Network and Cloud Security.
  • Experience working within a VMware ESXI and vCenter environment.

 

Optional Education / Experience:

  • Cisco CCNA or above.
  • Service provider voice or WAN exposure.
  • Experience in working with hardware and software vendors.
  • Experience in working with open source components and projects
  • Exposure to Agile environments.

 

Other Skills and Competencies:

  • Solution assessment and analysis, accurate identification of the level of effort for tasks.
  • Technical risk analysis.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to team up with others to develop and implement complex networking projects.
  • Strong ability to work within a fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to learn new technologies.
  • Solid analytical skills to troubleshoot high-level, complex and technical problems.
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work on a variety of projects without supervision.
